Who We Are

The Newnan Junior Service League (NJSL) is an organization of women committed to enhancing the quality of life in Coweta County through dedicated service, volunteerism, and leadership. Currently the NJSL is made up of 90 members who volunteer 60 hours of their time each year to local organizations such as the Coweta County Public Schools, Newnan Hospital Nursing and Rehabilitation, The Salvation Army, and many more.

The NJSL also hosts various fundraising events throughout the year to raise money to benefit organizations in our community. Our major fundraiser is the Charity Ball and Auction that takes place in February. In 2004, a NJSL grant of $27,000 made it possible for The Newnan-Coweta Humane Society to purchase a mobile adoption unit which will allow them to rescue and transport more animals and reach more adoptive families. The 2005 grant, $26,000, was awarded to the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Program. CASA is using their grant to establish their program in Coweta County which will provide volunteer advocates for abused and neglected children so that they can thrive in safe, permanent homes.
