In order to join the Newnan Junior Service League, one must be proposed for membership by other League members. The League uses objective criteria in determining which candidates may join. The following criteria must be met to be considered:
- The candidate must meet the age (between 20 and 50 years of age) and residency (reside in Coweta County for at least one year prior to proposal) requirements.
- The candidate must possess an interest in community service.
- The candidate must possess an interest in developing her potential for voluntary community participation.
The Provisional Education Committee considers the qualifications of all candidates using the objective criteria and recommends new members to our Board of Directors for election. Once accepted into the Provisional class, the candidate must complete a one-year period to qualify for Active membership.
It is recommended that you consider volunteering for at least one of the organizations where the Newnan Junior Service League is involved in order to meet other League members. If you already have friends in the League, let them know that you wish to be considered for membership.
If you have specific questions, please do not hesitate to call 770.251.0113 and leave a message for the Provisional Relations chairman.
Once again, thank you for your interest. All of us at the Newnan Junior Service League are proud of our accomplishments in this community. We always need hard working volunteers to continue having the impact and success that we enjoy today!
