Meet A Provisional!

Every month a different member of our provisional class will be profiled. Read about this month's provisional!

Amy Lambert

Amy is serving her first year in the league. She will be working with the Cookbook placement and serving on the Run-Walk committee. Amy graduated with a degree in biology from Samford University and went on to attend the UAB School of Optometry. Amy is currently an Optometrist in Peachtree City. She is also a member of Georgia Optometrist Association and American Optometric Association and a  member of Newnan First Baptist Church. Amy is originally from Marietta but has lived in Coweta County for the last three years. She is married to Jay and they are expecting their first child in November. Until the baby arrives, they have three pets to keep them busy: Annie (Weimerainer),  Minnie (cat), and Lulu (cat).

Angie Markham

Angie is serving her first year in the league. She will be working with the Cookbook placement and serving on the Run-Walk committee. Angie received her Bachelor degree in Secondary Education degree from the University of Georgia and her Master degree in Administration of Higher Education from Auburn University. She is currently employed at Smokey Road Middle School as a Title I Coordinator but she previously taught English at Newnan High School for six years before coming to SRMS for my seventh year to teach literature.  She is now in her eighth year in education. Angie is also a member of the Georgia Association of Educators and part of the Alumni Association with the University of Georgia. Angie currently lives in Sharpsburg but grew up in Newnan. Angie is married to Brad whose Mom is a sustainer of the Newnan Junior Service League. Angie and Brad are expecting their first child in April. Angie says that the pets in the house have taken sides: "Our pets have taken sides:  the dog, a Yorkshire Terrier named Bailey, is mine; the cat, a half Tabby/half Siamese named Maude, belongs to Brad." Angie's favorite quote is by Joseph Marine, "Challenges are what make life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful."

Amanda Inman

Amanda is serving her first year in the league. She says she joined the league to meet new people and help out in the community. Her favorite experience so far was Powers Crossroads where she battled rain and ants to sell cookbooks. Amanda had an exciting summer with her July wedding to Greg Inman. Congrats on being a newly wed! Amanda received her Bachelors of Education degree from the University of Georgia and her Masters of Education from Walden University. Currently, Amanda is an eighth grade teacher at Smokey Road Middle School but once upon a time, she worked on a dude ranch in Wyoming. Amanda is originally from Dallas, Texas where she comes from a family of six kids. She has lived in Newnan for the past year. Her and her husband live in SummerGrove where coincidentally, she is conveniently located close to one of her favorite places--The SummerGrove Lazy River! In her free time Amanda enjoys exercise such as running, biking, and tennis. One of Amanda's favorite quotes is from Mother Teresa: “I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much.”

Allison Boone

Allison is serving her first year in the league. This year she will serve on the Aging and Disabled placement and on the Casino Night committee. Allison received her Bachelor degree in Psychology from Georgia Southwestern State  University in Americus, Georgia. She presently works for the Coweta County Department of Family and Children and Services. Allison is originally from Fort Valley, Georgia but has been living in Newnan for the last two years with her husband, Matt Boone. The couple has a dog named Dixie. Allison enjoys playing tennis and spending time with family and friends. Her and her husband have been attending Central Baptist church and enjoy that as well. So far, Allison says she has really enjoyed the May dinner and working Powers Crossroads.
